Consultation & THerapy

ARCH has professional physiotherapists who help with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of physical problems and assist people who have experienced injuries or illnesses with rehabilitation.

ARCH assists children living with disabilities i.e. children who have physical, mental, emotional, behavioural, or developmental conditions that affect their functioning. Conditions that result from birth defects, genetic disorders, injuries, or illnesses.

Assisting
Adults

Disabilities can be caused by diseases or accidents that affect the body, brain, or senses. These disabilities vary from person to person and can range from mild to severe. ARCH help provide treatment and assistance to Adults with different forms of dissabilities.

Technical
Services

Our technical department is in charge of the designing, fabrication, maintenance and repair of all the devices and aids produced at the centre. All fabricated devices and aids are tested for strength, resistance and durability.

ASSOCIATED REHABILITATION CENTRE FOR THE HANDICAPPED

The Associated Rehabilitation Centre for the Handicapped (ARCH), is a rehabilitation centre for handicapped or people with special physical needs situated at mile 14 Dibanda Buea just above the Catholic Church. It is a non-profit making organization. The centre cares for both children and adults all receiving professional rehabilitative care. Some are disabled at birth, while others suffer birth trauma or have developed disabilities or deformities as a result of malnourishment or disease or accidents. The centre has grown as referrals came in from hospitals and clinics all over the South West Region and the entire country.

ABOUT ARCH

It was founded in 1986 as a Centre consecrated to social work by some goodwill Cameroonians to help people living with physical handicaps most especially children who suffered from the polio virus. It is presently owned by the Diocese of Buea and run by the Sisters of St Therese of the Child Jesus of Buea. ARCH is also supported by experts, missionaries as well as local volunteers. ARCH is located at Mile 14, Dibanda village in Fako Division, South West Region, Cameroon.
