Vintage 1990 Personal Computing – May 25th Issue Description Up for sale is a vintage Personal Computing magazine from May 25th, 1990. This magazine (along with several other catalogs & magazines related to computer technology that I’m still currently in the process of listing up for sale) was kept in an open tote storage crate for the past several years (or decades, rather) which picked up quite a bit of dust and played host to a termite infestation that caused damage to most of the catalogs that were in there (which I had no choice but to get rid of completely). Luckily, this magazine was spared, however, it still does have a bit of wear on it. Those signs of wear appear mainly in the form of foxing (i.e. yellowing and/or staining) throughout the pages and cover of the magazine; some of which almost look like tan lines formed along the edges of the pages or appearing as transfers from opposite facing pages (i.e. some text or print might have actually inadvertently tattooed itself onto another page after being kept in storage for so long and what have you). Aside from that there may be a few crease marks located on either side of the cover page as well as some minor scuff marks here and there. Some of the pages may have also developed some slightly bent corners along their edges as well. The rear cover also seems to have the number 63 written on it twice… once at the top and then again towards the bottom right of the cover, but circled this time. I get the feeling this was probably done by the post office as a delivery code or something along those lines. It almost looks like this number was drawn in black charcoal pencil. The front cover also had a recipient address sticker on it which was taken off for the purpose of this sale and for anonymity’s sake. The removal of that sticker left some immediately visible wear and tear on some of the bulleted sections/articles of this magazine along with the area where the UPC barcode resides in; which might have also been affected a bit as well… and there are some immediately noticeable remnants or traces of that adhesive that’s apparently still stuck on the surface of the front cover. Basically put, it just bears all the usual hallmarks of a magazine of such vintage. Furthermore, this publication also contains most of its original business reply mail inserts as well. Despite of the minor cosmetic wear on this magazine, it is still very much collectible and a pretty cool find for anybody that’s into collecting retro computer publications and whatnot. While it’s not in the best mint-like shape, it’s pretty close to that mark and is already technically considered a vintage item (how time flies, huh?). Either way, please be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts, for my loss is your gain as they say in the trade. Seller’s Terms Immediate payment is required for this item listing.
