These rather Rare Vito trumpets were made in France for Leblanc by Courtois. Vito Pascucci owned Leblanc and was a fine trumpet player himself. This trumpet is not to be confused with the student models that were made in Kenosha, Wisconsin by Holton I believe. My guess is that Vito wanted to produce a few of these made in France Trumpets for posterity. It is Stamped Made In France on the inside of the 1rst valve casing and SGDG BREVETE On the 3rd valve casing which means Patented. This stamp was not used after 1968 so this Fine Trumpet predates that. I have had these made in France Vito Trumpets in raw brass , silver and this is the first one I’ve seen that was nickel plated. It has those wonderfully and smooth Courtois valves. It has the typical French style water keys, which I love, internally threaded “Typical French Leblanc”valve topsI don’t see any signs of this Trumpet ever being repaired and it has a few nicks and scratches as most 60 year-old Trumpets will, but there are no major dents and it is a fine player. I measured the bore around .455 which would be a medium bore, and it doesn’t take much wind to produce a nice sound. I found it as with most nickel plated trumpets, such as a constellation or a Holton Galaxy that they seem to have more core and usually slot very well. This is not an exceedingly bright sounding trumpet. It was just rock solid Right in the middle with much core as I’ve said. Don’t hesitate on this one the slides all work as they should. The third slide ring is not the original but the third slide works like butter. I will make sure that this Trumpet comes fully cleaned on the inside, so all you have to do is throw a mouthpiece in it and play it. It will be shipped without a case, unless you absolutely have to have one and then the shipping will go up in price. If you are in dire need of a mouthpiece, I can include one of those as well. You must ask . Any buyers outside of the United States will have to use eBay international shipping program for which I do not control any of the fees, but I have never had a problem with it and they actually seem to get Trumpets to Europe much quicker than if I was to mail them myself.. this instrument is wonderfully made and in tremendous condition. I think it would be hard pressed to find another one quite as nice. It does have a couple spots around the handheld areas where you can see some of the Brass showing through but that’s very minimal that would be a wonderful Trumpet for, an advancing young student without breaking the bank. I am a motivated seller. So, make me an offer that I can’t refuse. I haven’t cleaned it yet so it will be even nicer than pics. I’ll check corks and felts and do a valve alignment as best I can.
