This auction is for a Legends Brass Signature Series Wise trumpet mouthpiece. DescriptionEndorsed and played by the legendary Alan Wise! Legends Brass is excited to offer this piece to our customers. Born in Loveland, Colorado, Mr. Wise began his trumpet career studying with Gil Garcia. Later, he went to Colorado State University and studied with the well respected Dr. Jacob Larson. Influenced by trumpet greats such as Bill Chase, Al Hirt and Doc Severinsen, the realization of Mr. Wise’s longtime dream was spending almost seven years touring with Maynard Ferguson. The Legends Wise rim is rounded and extremely comfortable. There is some nice undercut, which makes the .560 inside diameter feel a little roomier than it actually is. The cup is shallow with a drop V shape. The entrance to the throat is rounded, which allows plenty of air flow for a big sound. This piece has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and the Legends S backbore. The design of this mouthpiece is focused on enhancing endurance, range and sound for the player. Slotting is excellent. This model is kept in stock in lightweight, standard weight and heavyweight blanks. The Legends Wise is built for screaming lead! The “Wise” model is just fantastic! This mouthpiece is kept in stock in three blanks: lightweight, standard weight, and heavyweight. The lightweight blank adds extra sizzle for more of a lead, or ‘Las Vegas’ sound. The heavyweight blank is extremely efficient; the added mass creates enriched slotting and core of sound.
