eBay The items up for sale are: 1x Refurbished OEM Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) front loader console – NES-001 1x Used OEM NES AC Adapter – NES-002 2x Refurbished OEM NES Controllers – NES-004 1x New Generic Dual RCA Cable (Right Channel (Red) and Video (Yellow)) This console was acquired in a non-functioning or otherwise undesirable used state and was thoroughly cleaned and restored back to its original state as much as possible. Each console was completely disassembled, and each component, including the electronics, have been personally hand-cleaned and tested. Damaged or otherwise inoperable parts, if applicable, were either fixed or replaced and will be recorded in the notes later in this description. While care is taken to restore the cosmetics of the system, cracks and broken parts of the plastic shell may continue to be present. Please see the photos for any persisting issues or imperfections. The items that are pictured are exactly the ones you will receive. Unless otherwise noted, no aftermarket parts have been used in the process of restoring these consoles, with the exception of capacitors or resistors. The controllers were acquired in a used state and were fully disassembled and thoroughly cleaned and tested. Any issues with their connectivity or function were fixed or addressed. Unless otherwise noted, no aftermarket parts were used in the process of restoring these controllers. However, some aspects of these controllers, for example wear marks, cracks, or broken parts of the casing, may persist after the refurbishing. Please note the pictures of the items for more information and any notes regarding these blemishes in the description. The OEM AC adapter is used and has been used and tested to ensure proper output levels. When possible, before and after media is provided to show the original condition of the console when we received it and after the cleaning and refurbishing was done. Disclaimers: While we do our best to repair and extensively test each AC adapter, console and controller, please know that it is possible that a malfunction can still occur. If that is case, please contact us first so we can see if we can help. We do not bypass or disable the lockout chip or do any modifications as part of our restoration. The goal is to restore the console to a working condition as close to as it was when it was new. A properly functioning, clean console and game do not need this chip to be disabled to run perfectly. (If the board already has the chip disabled, we will note it in the description.) It’s highly recommended you thoroughly clean your games before attempting to play them in this system. A dirty, worn out, or damaged game will likely have issues playing, if it plays at all. There are plenty of reliable resources available for proper cleaning procedures of NES games and PCBs. Also, consider taking your games to a local game store for a professional cleaning. Please contact us with any questions. Console Specific Details: Serial Number: N8917985 Original State: Console had an aftermarket 72 pin connector with a “death grip”, and the exterior screws holding the shell top and bottom together were stripped. Issues Observed: Someone previously had replaced the 72 pin connector, and in so doing, over-tightened many of the screws inside the console and out. A piece of plastic could be heard loosely falling about inside the console. Remediation Actions Taken: Attempted to extract the stripped out screws, and was able to free all but one. Carefully broke the end off that was holding the screw, and was able to get the shell apart. Replaced the aftermarket 72 pin connector with a refurbished OEM 72 pin connector, and cleaned the motherboard and other dirty areas as needed. Glued what bits could be salvaged back and restored the broken leg that was done to get the console open. Please see the attached photos. Console Notes: One of the exterior screw holes that was previously damaged could not be repaired, and so no screw is there. There is a bit of the front of the shell that was previously broken, and part of it is still cracked. Please see the photos. Both RCA and RF connections were tested and no audio or video issues were found. Controller Notes: Both controllers have been completely disassembled and all contacts, boards, shells and buttons have been thoroughly cleaned.
