eBay From my own personal collection: An original 1995 Radiohead @ The Sailers Union of the Pacific, Seattle Concert Poster SIGNED by the artist Justin Hampton making this a true one-of-a-kind poster! I purchased this poster from Justin himself through an auction on his own personal eBay account in 2006 and has been in storage, rolled in it’s original mailer tube since. The auction is documented on Worthpoint.com From the 2006 eBay listing – “This is an official auction by the artist himself, Justin Hampton. A three color screen print measuring 12″ x 24″. A v ery rare screen print from 1995 by Justin Hampton. This is the original printing that was created for the promoter run only. T were only 75 made and were unsigned and unnumbered. They were mostly hung in cafes and record shops to promote the show but a handful of those were never hung and were given to various VIP’s at the show. Thus is one of those un-hung copies. Later in 1998 t was a signed and numbered edition of 100 released that had some changes made to the colors and shadow work. They are both very hard to find rare items but this one is by far the more rare of the two versions. This auction is for a signed print. Good luck with the bidding! -Justin” 1995 was early in the careers of both Radiohead and “Art of Modern Rock” featured artist Hampton, making this is a true Holy Grail piece for fans of either, or for rare concert poster collectors, this is an opportunity to invest in a specially rare piece of art that has it’s place in the history of Rock concert posters, as it heads towards being 30 years old. Vintage Design website: “A rare and early screenprint poster for a performance by Radiohead at the Sailors Union of the Pacific, Seattle on Monday 10th July, 1995, in support of their 1995 album The Bends. Artist Justin Hampton very literally translated the band’s name with a futuristic robot figure with radio masts on either side of its head. Hampton later explained that the original run, as in a lot of my really early posters, had no signed and numbered run. There were only 75 or so and they were only used for promotion of the show and I’d get a few extra as well. original run of 75 posters printed to hang in cafes and record shops to promote the show. Hampton reprinted a signed and numbered edition of 100 in 1998 with alterations to some design elements including the removal of the S.U.P. stamp from the robot’s head and full colour eyes instead of the bloodshot white of the original design. Condition – As this copy was from Hampton’s personal collection it was certainly never displayed, or even handled very much at all! My pics don’t do the colours any justice. There are a few light rubs on the matt black finish which can really only be seen under certain light and i have tried to show this in my pics above. No holes, dings or tears and stored rolled in tube, this is a truly beautiful copy of this rarity and you will not find a better example on the market, unless Justin decides to sell another personal copy…..
