ITEM DESCRIPTION: For your consideration: What I believe to be as clean and original Raleigh Folding 20 as you will ever find. I am no Raleigh bicycle expert, but in my opinion the only items not original are the valve stem cover on the front tire tube and the rear hub plug. I replaced the plug because the original was brittle and would not remain closed. I did not remove the tires from the rims so I can not form an opinion on the tubes. However, my opinion is the tires are factory and not very worn, so … . Serial number NL 4021010. Research tells me Nottingham , August 1974 or 84. The pictures speak for themselves, beautiful! What I did to this bike. Gave it a good cleaning and polishing. Filled the rear hub with Genuine Sturmey Archer oil and replaced hub plug with a generic plug. Filled the tires and test rode it. Everything functions as it should. Shifts and stops fine. I stopped pedaling when I shifted. The tire tubes hold air but they will lose air sooner than they should. The tires are dry and cracked. I left these on for collectors interest. They say Raleigh on the side wall. If you want to use this bike for transportation it will need new tubes and tires. The tire pump says made in England, Again, this makes it original in my opinion. It seals and pumps air. The folding lever boot is brittle and fractured as are the hand brake cable ferrules. Hand grips are excellent, pedals have basically no wear. Not much rust on the underside of the fenders. One fender has a small bend. There are some scratches down to undercoating, fairly nasty ones. See pictures. All the decals are there and look marvelous. Special note: The California Bike License Sticker has been removed. I needed to remove it so I could read the serial number.
